Welcome to the all-new bdjbox.com!

The Beauty Ministers and BDJ Box contributors were treated to a day of detox and pampering at the biggest Philosophy biggest store in the world, right in the heart of SM Megamall’s Fashion Hall.

We felt like college girls all over again as Philosophy’s Cristina Conde and Barbs Miravalles gave us a classroom workshop on global skincare and Philosophy’s history as a brand. At the end of our class, we were treated to a free Microdelivery Facial Peel, which allowed us to sample Philosophy’s bestsellers.

I had a toxic week, so this facial was a much-needed pampering treatment.

There’s a little spa room called “Peel Cabine” at the back, where you can have your facials and peels done in private, but I opted to have mine outside so that I could bond with the BDJ girls.

Now this is facial! They used all of these Philosophy skincare products on my face: Purity 3-in-1 Cleanser for Face and Eyes, Microdelivery Peel, Brighten My Day All-Over Skin Perfecting Brightening Lotion, Brighten My Day All-Over Skin Perfecting Brightening Essence, Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Ageing Retinoid Eye Repair, Hope In A Jar Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer, Take Shelter UVA/UVB SPF 30 PA+++ Sunscreen and Environmental Shield.

While Philosophy’s facial process may seem similar to all standard facials around the metro, the difference is in the products they used. Most facials have 3-4 basic steps. Philosophy’s version uses seven of their best skincare products. I especially loved the fruity, citrusy scent! It’s a turn off when a skincare product smells too medicinal or chemical.

There’s a Peel Cabine at the back and an inspirational display of Philosophy’s signature poetic adages.

After this facial, I headed straight to a toxic 24-hour schedule where I barely had time to wash my face. My face would usually break out under these conditions, but thanks to my Philosophy facial, my skin stayed smooth and clear until my next bath.

This facial used to be available as a separate purchase, but now you can get it for free for every P5,000 worth of product purchases at Philosophy.

Tips:

1. Don’t be intimidated by the word “peel.” The most common misconception about facial peels is that they will strip off an entire layer of your skin and make your face flake out for days. There’s nothing to be worried about, Bellas! They will simply use exfoliating creams that will scrub off the dead skin cells from your face, followed by moisturizing treatments to make your skin smooth and supple.

2. If you’re a Philosophy newbie and don’t know which items to purchase, try their gift sets, such as Fan Favorites, which allows you to try their bestsellers in travel sizes.

3. If you’re planning to avail of their free facial, it’s best to come with no makeup.
