Hollywood celebrities always looks so flawless on the red carpet. The secret of these top makeup artists? They really spend a lot time preparing the skin of their before applying any makeup at all. I thought it wouldn’t make a big difference, but after giving it a try, I realized that adding these steps can really take your glow to the next level. Here are the techniques I use:
1. Hydrate your skin.
But don’t just slap on your moisturize haphazardly. Take time to really massage it into your skin and allow it to settle for a few minutes. Concentrate your cream into problematic spots like your undereye area, your forehead creases, and laughlines to plump up any wrinkles and prevent your fonda from caking. 2. Use a primer.
Makeup bases have come a long way. Back then, it really only boosted lasting power and ensured that it glided on smoothly over your skin. Now, there are skin equalizers that can help you battle texture problems (like dryness or roughness) and discoloration (like redness, dullness, or sallow skin). My current radiance-boosting pick: Smashbox Luminizing Photofinish Foundation Primer, P2,050 at Beauty Bar. My review full here!
3. Warm up your foundation.
For liquid or cream foundations, I like to warm it up first before applying it. If I’m using my fingers, I simply do a patting motion to help soften the product and make it easier to blend. If I’m using a brush, I stipple the bristles over the back of my hand a few times before blending it over my face.
