Did you know that applying skincare products need a definite order for their effects to be maximized? If you are using more than three skincare products, then better read on because you might be doing it wrong.

Are you applying your skincare products in the proper order?

Are you applying your skincare products in the proper order?

1. Water-based products. Toners and water essences should be applied first on clean skin. Since these products have a thin consistency, they are easily absorbed by the skin. They help prep the skin for the next step. Just make sure you wash your face first before applying toner.

2. Serums. Since a facial serum’s consistency is also thin, then this should be applied after the toner.

3. Gels. This is normally a mix of oil and water, so this should come after the serum.

4. Creams or facial lotions. Skincare products with the thickest consistency should be applied last to give more time for absorption. This includes creams, moisturizers, facial lotions, and sunblock.
