Welcome to the all-new!

As a wedding makeup specialist, my mantra is “less is more.” The truth is, it doesn’t exactly mean putting on less products or taking up less time applying the makeup (although doing both would be great). It’s more like keeping it down to what’s essential.

And the way I do my bridal makeup is not much different to how I would do my own makeup (when I absolutely have to!) for a major presentation, meeting or event. On most days, I’m content with doing my usual skincare regimen (Pond’s Age Miracle does wonders for me) + fixing my brows (Benefit Brow Duo) + curling my lashes (shu uemura Eyelash Curler when I’m not “Curled Up” by Browhaus) with a dollop of mascara (Fairydrops) + a cheek and lip color (Body Shop or a swipe of L’Oréal lip color, which I also double as a cheek color for emergencies).

The daily bridal glow can be achieved with these tricks:

1. Aside from your everyday concealer, add a pea-sized amount of tinted moisturizer or a light to medium coverage foundation using a sponge or a foundation brush on areas that need to be evened out, such as the redness around the nose, under your eyes or the chin where you usually have blemishes. Blend, blend, and blend!

Less is more.

Less is more.

2. On top of your usual cheek tint or blush, dust a highlighter on the apples of your cheeks almost near the corner of your eyes, the tippiest point of your nose and the center of your brows for a brighter look. I looooove the Hourglass Blushers or Kevyn Aucoin’s Candlelight for this trick.

3. Once a more solid coverage and color are in place, the eyes tend to get down-played. Keep them your focal point by swiping earth-toned eyeshadow hues such as flesh or taupe just on the lid above the socket. Rim your eyes with brown eyeliner or skip the eyeliner and use a very light pair of false eyelashes like that of Red Cherry or Bohktoh Lashes.

These three simple add-ons to your daily makeup application will up your look to the bridal glow effect!
